Peace building & Conflict management: 5-Day Training of Trainers

This training is offered in response to the need to expand the limited pool of trainers in peace building and conflict management. This need was part of the gaps and lapses identified at a consultative meeting organised by HBS for its partner organisations and conflict experts, which took place at HBS's office on the 31st of October 2007.
The training is part of HBS’s commitment towards building the capacity of development organisations in Nigeria and improving service delivery within the sector.
 

The objectives of the TOT include amongst others to:

• Equip participants with knowledge and skills in peace building/Conflict Management
• Groom new trainers with a view to expanding the pool of conflict trainers
• Introduce participants to Interfaith mediation as part of conflict management
• Introduce HBS’s new manual on capacity for peace building
• Provide participants with the opportunity to acquire and practice facilitation skills
• Explore opportunities for joint improvement of training delivery in the field of conflict management among participants and their organisations
