Please read the material below in order to have a clear understanding about the guiding principles for internship by the organization in Nigeria.

Dear applicant for an internship,

Thanks for your concern for the work of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Nigeria and for your interest to work in Africa. Unfortunately we are not authorized to offer international internships.

We do however sometimes recruit young students from Germany to serve for a short-term in our office if they bring to Nigeria particular practical expertise, knowledge or contacts which we cannot find locally and which are essential for the execution of one of our programmes.

Please have a look at our website at www.boellnigeria.org and find out for yourself, whether you would fit into this category. If you think so, please send us your CV (in English), indicating in particular the fields where you think you can be of assistance to one of our programmes. Please add a short letter (again in English) where you explain your particular interests and motivation.

In case we cannot make use of your skills we might refer to you one of our partners or associates. Internships in a genuine Nigerian organization might in fact be more interesting than in a “German” organization abroad.

We appreciate your interest in an internship in Africa and urge you not to give up. There are many options - and even more rewards for going this route.
